Optimize Blog URL :

You should use the primary keywords in your domain name.The keywords used in sub-domain also helps in search engine optimization of your blog.So you have to ensure that your domain name contain at-least one primary keyword.For example if you want to create a blog on SEO then you should use SEO.blogspot.com,seohelp.com such domain name or use something related to your primary keyword in URL.
Some writers are ignoring the title of post,You have to be serious about titles because the Post titles are used is url by some major blog providers such as blogger/Wordpress and they keywords used in Urls may also affects on your Searching Rankings.For example if your blog post is about HTML tutorials then if you used post title 'HTML tutorials' then your URL ill be something like this : http://your-blog.com/html_tutorial.html

Optimize Header tags:

After URLs the keywords used in header tags plays major roll in SEO.You should use secondary keywords in H1 , H2 tags.If primary keywords wont work then this will definitely help in search engine ranking .

Optimize links :

Internal linking -
Make sure that your every page and post are linked together.every page should be linked with home page.This will help spiders to collect all links.
Always use relative keywords as anchor text while linking to other post.and don't forget to use alt=" " tag in your hyper-links because this is useful for spiders/crawlers .Write a short description about your page in the alt tag. Remember that anchor text is more powerful than simple text used on other page.For example if you are linking to page about "css help" then use 'css help' in the anchor text.

External linking -
You have to get as many links as possible to your posts or blog from other pages because it will help you to increase page-rank and get your blog to rank higher in search engines. The more links you have the higher your blog is ranked in Technorati helping your blog to be found easily.

Always use alt tags is image source because the alt tag only readable by crawlers and spiders for listing in image search results and don't loose traffic from image search results.

• Update your blog frequently.
• Keep small size of blog
• Don't overuse Widgets.
• Resubmit sitemaps daily.
• Keep RSS fide links visible.
